This marks the third and final yearly collaboration between the Dead & Co. singer/guitarist and the watch-centric brands. The first paid tribute to the Casiotone SK-5 sampling keyboard, while the second channeled the white and orange colors of the Casio PT-80. The latest G-Shock DW6900JM22-2 looks back to Mayer’s very first keyboard, the Casio PT-1.

Almost every color is pulled directly from the mini-synth, including the light blue resin case; the peach, coral, and turquoise tones accenting the the “Triple Graph” display; and the gray buttons, which are coated in the same shade that covered the PT-1’s sharp/flat keys. Even the buttons’ indicators, e.g. “Start-Stop” and “Split-Reset,” take their Navy blue tone from the PT-1’s various script.
